Pizza Ranch in Maplewood Minnesota

I decided to go out on a limb and try Pizza Ranch out again, only this time in a different location. This Pizza Ranch in Maplewood Minnesota opened on Novemeber 5th and by the looks of it is doing pretty well. This time around, they delivered my pizza to the table, I was happily surprised. The pizza looked presentable and amazing,  with no bad after taste and I was actually able to enjoy the pizza instead of having to deal with the overpowering taste of the crust. I was able to meet with the manager of the business and boy is he a nice fellow. All of the waiters and waitresses were very kind and on top of it. After we were all finished eating, we had about 2 or 3 people come and ask us how the meal was, one of which was the manager again. What I love about Pizza Ranch is that they take Gluten Sensitive or making pizza that you and I can eat (safely) VERY SERIOUSLY.

At this restaurant, they will allow you one trip to the salad bar if you are dinning in and ordering, which I find to be very awesome because as you know by now, I love my salads.

For all of you that will be traveling through the Maplewood area or live near by, you HAVE TO try this restaurant out.

I am really glad I gave Pizza Ranch another try because if I wouldn't have, I would have missed out on some really amazing and delicious pizza tonight.

This time around I ordered their "Round Up", it has beef, pepperoni,  mushrooms, cheese, onions and black olives on it- Talk about Delicious.

Oh and to add a little cherry to this wonderful blog post, I need to mention (THEY DELIVER!!!)

This restaurant I give a 5 out of 5 score for service.
Their pizza is a 5 out of 5 score.

Have you tried their pizza?

Chipotle's Burrito Bowl

Chipotle caters to the people with Celiacs Disease and Gluten Sensitive and a bunch more food allergic people. Chipotle offers a burrito bowl that is COMPLETELY SAFE for us to eat because there is no Wheat, Barley or Rye in the ingredients. You can put the following ingredients in your burrito bowl:

  • Lemon rice (Both Brown & White)
  • Lettuce
  • Several choices for meat
  • Cheese
  • Sour Cream
  • Guacamole
  • Corn Salsa
  • Salsa
  • Beans
  • Onions (Green, Purple)
The only thing you want to avoid at this restaurant is their FLOUR TORTILLA as it contains gluten.
The servers at every Chipotle I have been to, which is about 2 or 3 now have been very fast at what they do, very similar to Jimmy Johns if you are familiar with that restaurant.

When I go to this restaurant, which is as much as possible because it's so devine and you can't get enough of it, I order the following: Steak, White rice, Beans, Cheese, Sour Cream, Lettuce, Corn Salsa, Salsa, Onions and Guacamole. My total comes up to about $8. plus tax.

If you haven't tried Chipotle yet, YOU HAVE TO, IT'S AMAZING!!

I give the Restaurants service a 5 out of 5 score
and I give their burrito bowl a 5 out of 5 score

Been here before, let me know how you like it by commenting below.

**UPDATE AS OF 7/2/14**
If you have Celiacs disease and cannot handle even the slightest crumb of wheat, you might want to consider asking a manager to give you a bowl from the back room where the spoons haven't touched. I noticed that the spoons touch the tortillas and then back into the containers making it a HUGE RISK for cross contamination. So, in order to avoid this, I would recommend waiting until it's not as busy in the restaurant and talking with a manager about your situation. I came to this conclusion when I started becoming sick from the chipotle bowl and while watching them prepare it, I noticed this was the reason.
Please be careful!

Pizza Ranch's Gluten Free Pizza

We visited Pizza Ranch in Elk River Minnesota a few weeks ago, to try out their pizza and to my surprise, they had GLUTEN FREE PIZZA. They only offer one size 10" pizzas in the gluten free dough.
I ordered one of their classics from their menu and specified that I need it to be gluten free.
Before ordering, they mentioned to me that it would take about a half an hour for the pizza to be made.
After ordering the pizza, I waited for about an hour to an hour and half and my pizza was still not delivered to my table. At this time, I decided it would be best to go check on the progress of my pizza and come to find out it had been done but just left in the back. To top it off, they didn't add one ingredient like I wanted them to. If it weren't for the buffet and the salad bar, I wouldn't have been able to eat with my family.

The pizza was really stuck to the pan it was on, so after some wiggling and struggling, I was able to get my pieces off of the pan. The toppings were delicious but the dough tasted a bit like it wasn't fully cooked & powdery (But that could just be the way this dough tastes?).
The after taste wasn't to bad but you could definitely tell it wasn't your normal gluten pizza.

Over all, The pizza tasted okay, I might consider going to this restaurant again, just maybe not the one in Elk River Minnesota.

I give the restaurants service a 1 out of 5 score.
And I give the pizza a 4 out of 5 score.
